Leona worked for H&R Block for over 30 years as a tax preparer. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching movies, going to movies, and reading. Her family and friends remember her kind heart, dedicated personality, and for being laid back and a true friend. She was a great aunt to her several nieces and nephews.
Leona is survived by her mother, Eveylena; brother Michael David Woody and wife Linda; sister-in-law Judy Woody; nephew Johny A. Woody and wife Zaira; nieces Sarah M. Burks and husband Dustin and Anna M. Woody; great niece Josie Woody; great nephew Sean Burks; and many cousins and two uncles. Leona was preceded in death by her father, brother Samuel Woody, and niece Sandra Woody.
Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10AM on Wednesday, November 2 at Grove Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Bedingfield officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
