Leonard Ortega, Sr. a longtime Dallas, Texas resident departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2010. Leonard was born February27, 1943 in Kaufman, Texas to the late Juan & Maria (Salas) Ortega. He was a faithful catholic all his life and also worked for Texas Bearings for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Leonard Ortega, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Richard Michael Ortega and his partner Abel Gonzalez; daughters, Belinda Ortega Fonseca and her husband Julian Fonseca and Juanita Graza; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Jesse "JJ" Rangel, Samantha Ortega, Michael Ortega and Kimberly Ortega; great-grandchildren, Alicia Gloria Fonseca, J'Kobe Rangel and Natalie Ortega. He is also survived by sisters, Anita Pesina, Julia Vasquez, Josie Ovalle and brother, Juan Ortega, Leonard also had many special friend and family members that he also considered family. The Ortega family would like to express their thanks to Cuidado Casero Hospice for the great care they gave Leonard and also to Methodist Hospital 6th floor bed tower. A special thanks goes out to Mike Stephens. Viewing will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 19, 2010 in the Chapel at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
