Leonila Cervantes

Leonila Cervantes lived a full and vibrant life until her passing on March 28, 2025 in Dallas, Texas.She was born on August 10, 1941 the eldest of six to Javier and Juana Olivarez, she was wed on November 20,1957 and was a devoted wife of 68 years to her husband Eloy Cervantes.

She served many years as the director of the senior citizen program at Marillac Social Center in Ledbetter there she built a career committed to helping and providing for the seniors of her community. Leonila enjoyed spending all her spare time with her family and friends, but what brought her the most joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her world and she treated each one as her favorite. Leonila leaves behind a community inspired by her courage, her generosity and her extraordinary ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her. Leonila was proceeded in death by her father Javier Olivarez, mother Juana Olivarez and Daughter Julia Diaz. Leonila lives on through her loving family, Husband Eloy Cervantes, her daughter Eloisa Nevarez, son Mr & Mrs Mario Cervantes, sister Elda Olivarez and her cherished grandchildren and great grand children. Her memory will forever continue to inspire and uplift all those who knew, loved and cared for her.

A visitation for Leonila will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220. A rosary will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220. An interment will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.
