Leta Lou was born Leta Lou McLarry in Hopkins County, Texas. She was one of five children of Guy and Robbie Lee McLarry. She picked cotton as a child and attended school in Sulphur Springs. She came to Dallas shortly after WWII and worked at Merchant's Credit Union. Leta had two children, Randy Eastep and Mac Patterson. She was a loving mother who was devoted to her two sons and did everything within her power to see that they were educated and taught the right values in life. While living in Duncanville, Texas she donated many hours of her time to the Duncanville Public Library, especially to it's Summer Reading Program. After her sons were grown she attended college and studied art and English literature at Mountain View College. She took a trip overseas and visited London, Paris and Italy. Leta was a reader of books, a habit that she learned from her father and mother and which she passed down to her children. She has two grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is Greatly Missed.
