Libby was born in Farmersville, Texas. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas in 1944.

He married Peggy White from Lone Oak, Texas on Dec. 11, 1944.

Libby and Peggy worked hand in hand until their retirement. They owned and operated the B&M BBQ, Libby's Lounge and Pool Hall on East Grand. They started Libby's RV in 1959 and became the top selling RV dealer in the United States for many years until his retirement. After retiring, they moved to Quinlan, Texas.

Libby is Survived by wife Peggy, daughter Patsy and husband David Fonseca, son, Lilburn and wife Judy Mayo, son Thomas Mayo and daughter Penny Mayo, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, sister Jessiel Skidmore, and many nieces and nephews.

Libby was proceeded in death by parents Jesse and Ethel Mayo, brothers JW and John Mayo, grandson Christopher Mayo and niece Linda Mayo.

Graveside Services will be held Friday June 22, 2012 At 11:30 AM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, the family will receive friends from 10-11:30 Friday at the Funeral Home.
