

Lisa Jane Smith, 62, of Dallas, Texas, a daughter, sister, and friend went home to be with her Lord on May 26, 2017, after a lengthy eight year battle as a breast cancer survivor and numerous surgeries.
She was born the daughter of Jack Sherrod and Betty Bell Smith on May 17, 1955 at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Lisa attended W.T. White High School and Baylor University, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dallas.
She was joyously welcomed to her final home by her loving paternal grandparents, Frank W. and Willie Sherrod Smith, and her maternal grandparents, Charles Smith and Jane Woodward Bell. Lisa was blessed with loving, and caring friends throughout her thirty-three year career in banking, and her last years of employment at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.
Lisa is survived by her parents , Jack and Betty Smith of Dallas, Texas; brother Stephen Blaine Smith, and his wife Suzy; niece, Grace Suzanne Smith, all of Richardson, Texas; and numerous cousins.
Lisa wrote beautiful and witty poetry, and loved her companion dogs. She approached her deteriorating health with a positive attitude. The family would like to thank her friends for their kindness. Her gift of caring for others that she brought to all will be missed.
A private graveside was held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home and Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas.
