She was a member of Edward Chapel AME Church until the age of 15 when she joined Wade's Chapel Church of God in Christ. Lois served as Sunday School secretary, and on the usher board. She later became a member of Word of Faith Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She served as the president of the Mother's Board. Lois retired after more than 30 years as a seamstress.
Lois is preceded in death by her mother and father, Robert and Iona Rolen; eight sisters, Nellie, Vera, Mayola, Dollie Ree, Regina, Gloria, Ruby, and Mary; and 4 brothers, Larry, Willard, William, and Bennie.
She is survived by 1 daughter Camille, 5 sons, Ellery, Jeffery (Dana), Byron, Robert (Maria), and Eric (Myisha); 11 grandchildren, Erica, Kim, Michael, LeMayes (MJ), Everett, Jamal, Jason, Madison, Laerica, Heather, and EJ; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Johnnie Brigham and Rosalie Goosby; 3 brothers, Bobbie Rolen, Stanley Rolen (Elzy), and Gaylon Rolen (Susan); and a host of relatives and friends.
