Having spent her early years on a small farm during the depression, Lou learned the value of hard work, integrity, and family ties at a young age. Those who knew her recognized her sweet disposition, selflessness, and quiet strength. After her children were old enough, she went to work outside the home as a professional secretary and continued her love of learning. She enjoyed her life in Dallas, especially going to the arboretum in the spring with her husband, Walter H. Caldwell (1918-2009) and family. They were founding members of Midway Hills Christian Church in the early 1950s. Her character and love will live through those who knew her and were part of her family.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Abbey Care Home (Ann Huneryager, Grace Wawgru, and Gladys Tibi Akeh) and Ryanne Hollingsworth of Hospice Select for their loving support of Lou.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Midway Hills Christian Church, 11001 Midway Rd., Dallas, TX 75229. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory with a donation to a charity dear to you.
