

Lucy was born September 18, 1937, in Washington, D.C., to Frank Dicken McAlister and Mary Lee Little McAlister. The family moved to Conway, Arkansas, in 1942. After graduating from Conway High School in 1955, she obtained a degree from Hendrix College in 1959. She then moved to New Orleans, where she received a master’s degree in 1961 from Tulane University. Fifteen years later she decided to continue her education and, in 1981, she earned her MBA in accounting from North Texas State University.
After being employed as a CPA for Atlantic Richfield for 10 years, she continued working in the accounting profession until she retired in 2013.
She enjoyed volunteering at St. Michael and all Angels Episcopal Church where she was an active member.
Lucy was fortunate to have a group of loyal friends and they shared many interests and experiences together such as reading, cooking and traveling. Her love for animals was apparent in the many pets she enjoyed throughout her life, especially her dogs. She hopes to see them waiting for her at the gates of Heaven.
Lucy is survived by two sons; Frank and wife Leslie and John and wife Traci; daughter Maria Daniel and husband Elden; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
