Luz (Lucy) Maria Hernandez

Lucy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 12, 1936, to Paula Hernandez and Andres Nunez.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and being with family. She was a devout Catholic, being actively involved in church activities at Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos - Santa Teresita in Dallas, Texas.

Lucy is preceded in death by her mom, Paula Hernandez and brother, Salvador Nunez.

Lucy is survived by her 9 children: Angelica Villanueva Hernandez, Raul Villanueva (Silva), Jose Villanueva Hernandez (Martha), Coquis Aguilar, Victor Hernandez, Luz Rada, Sagrario Orozco (Eloy), Minerva Day (Robert) and Yolanda Nixon (Lance). Also, countless grandchildren/great grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and other family and friends.

Pallbearers: Marcus Sanchez, Lance Nixon Jr, Marcus Sanchez, Kristopher Nixon, Brandon Corn, Eli Castillo. Honorary: Eloy Orozco, Ishmael Gonzalez, Lance Nixon and Miguel Castillo.

Visitation will be held at on Tuesday, March 12 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Calvary Hill Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Calvary Hill Chapel. Committal will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 from 1:45 PM to 2:30 PM.

The Hernandez family would like to ask everyone to please wear pastel colors on Tuesday, March 12th in her honor.
