Malcolm Edward Turner

Malcolm Edward Turner was born May 16, 1928 in Seagoville, TX to Eugene Ervin Turner and Penny Lillian Frazier Turner. He accepted the Lord as his savior at age 14. As a young boy he worked at a donut shop and was a caddy at Stevens Park in Oak Cliff, TX. He enlisted in the Air Corp on Feb. 11, 1946 and served until Sept. 6, 1953. After enlisting he received his GED. He served as Finance Officer handling up to $1.7 million in cash to payout for payroll. He served most of his time in Europe and Eastern USA. He was Master Electrician for Montgomery Wards, Sanger Harris & Foley. Malcolm enjoyed golfing, playing poker and shooting pool. He was a member of First Christian Church, Iowa Park, TX. He served as Elder and Deacon as well as other Committee chair. He was Past Master at Iowa Park Masonic Lodge #713. He was a member of the Friendly Door, where he served meals on wheels.

Nov. 15, 1992 he married the love of his life Marian Andersen. They made their home in Iowa Park for 18 years .

He is survived by his Sons Peter, Pride and Tracy Turner; Daughter , Coleta Grubbs; Step children Carrie Phillips, Karen Barlow and Bill Andersen. Grandchildren; Peter Turner, Jr., Sabine and Lena Turner, Michael Grubbs, II, Becky Coombes and Lindsay Doyle. Brother and sister in law, Erwin and Kathryne Turner; Sister and brother in law, Ruby and Bill Grubbs; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friend Larry Thackston.

He was preceded in death by his Help Mate – Marian Turner, his parents, Ervin Turner and Lillian Judge, his brothers Eugene and Raymond Turner; sisters Marie Brumit & Georgia Turner, grandson Malcolm Grubbs.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219 A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Eastridge Park Christian Church, 2701 N. Town East Blvd., Mesquite, Texas 75150. Graveside Services will be Oct. 24, 2012 @ 11:00 at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, TX.
