

Margaret Ruth Willis Lievsay went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 23, 1921 in Gilmer, TX to Mattie Sue Koontz and Robert Lee Willis. Margaret married Marvin on January 26, 1941 in Dallas.
Margaret is survived by her family of four daughters: Ruth Ann Haygood and husband Charles, Sandy Pratz and husband Dodie, Sunday Olsson and husband James, Jenny Tabak and husband Robert; five grandchildren Kelsie Webster and husband Randy, Kris-Ann Randle and husband Ronnie, Donald Barr and wife Deedra; Mandy McLean and husband David, and Travis Tabak; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother Bill Willis and wife Joan; sister in law Billa Willis; and a large extended family. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, 2 grandsons Jason and Joel Olsson.
Margaret was an active member of Urban Park United Methodist Church for 52 years, and most recently a member of White Rock United Methodist Church. She was active in the Dallas Elks Lodge #71, holding a variety of leadership positions. Margaret volunteered and was a docent at the Dallas Arboretum. She was a storyteller for the Dallas Story League. Margaret loved bingo, gambling, dancing, and was also known as the “Bling Queen.” Her greater than life spirit will be dearly missed by all. The family gives a special thanks to the caregivers at Christian Care Center for all of their care and support.
Please join the family in the Celebration of Margaret’s life. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26 from 5-8PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 27 at 10AM at White Rock United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
