Maria Isabel Segura, age 68, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on March 20, 1953 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico to her parents, Abel Cruz and María Isabel Gamiño. Maria was best known as “Chavelita” to everyone who knew her. Maria was raised in Guanajuato, Mexico and migrated to Dallas, Texas in the early 1980’s. She married her late husband, Tirzo Segura in 1971, and together they had six children. She took pride in caring for her family and was a devoted housewife and mother. Maria was happiest cooking for her family, enjoying nature by working in her garden, caring for her beloved grandchildren, and thrift store shopping with her friends. She will always be remembered as a friendly, kind woman that loved to spend time cooking for her family and friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her three brothers, Agustin, Juan and Abel; and five sisters, Victoria, Cuquita, Maria, Ignacia, and Cecilia. She is survived by Isaac Segura, Estela Segura, Octavio Segura, Cesar Segura, Rito Segura and Victor Segura. She had 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
