She spent her happy childhood years in Mansfield, Louisiana alongside her parents and brother. Marian accepted Jesus as the Lord of her life when she was six years old. After graduation from Mansfield High School, she earned a B.S. in Education and an M.S. in Speech Pathology from Baylor University. While at Baylor, she met the love of her life, Greg. Marian and Greg married after graduation from Baylor and loved their life together. They were blessed with Mary Kathleen, Sam, and Stewart. These children were gifts whom she adored. Marian’s prayer for her family includes Romans 8:28 which states, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” An additional prayer for her family is found in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Marian is survived by her husband Greg and their children Mary Kathleen, Sam and Stewart; loving parents Riemer and Marcia Calhoun; brother Murray Calhoun and sister-in-law Caroline and their children Lydia and Murray; mother-in-law Kay Snapp; sister-in-law Cheryl Swartz and her children Matt, Alex and Hanna. She was preceded in death by grandparents Riemer and Hope Calhoun; Marian Copeland Cooper; and father-in-law Kent Snapp.
The family would like to especially thank the caregivers who lovingly took care of Marian. Thank you to the family and friends who loved her well.
