

She was born in Greenville, Texas, on May 5, 1929, to Marvin Sanford Jones and Alma Herndon Jones. She graduated with a B.A. in Art and a Minor in English from Texas State College for Women in Denton, and worked in Austin and Dallas as a commercial artist for the Frank Randt Advertising Agency. Clients included Neiman-Marcus and Sanger-Harris. On January 27th, 1959, she married Leonard B. "Buster" Cooper, renowned dance choreographer and instructor. She was instrumental in the success of their business, managing his office, advertising, and designing sets for the shows he directed. They had two daughters, Kathy and Leslie. After the tragic loss of Kathy, they selflessly raised her 3 young children. Anne was intelligent, creative, and had a legendary dry wit. She was also a tireless champion of animal rights. Whether it be birds, rabbits, cats, or dogs, no stray was left behind.
Survivors include husband Leonard "Buster" Cooper, daughter Leslie Cooper and long time family friend Sandra Pastiro, grandchildren Keira Anne Leverton, Rayna Lee Northrup and Jason Albert Leverton, great grandchildren, James, Katherine, and Lillyana Northrup, nephew Tony Stevens, grand niece Sarah Stevens and great grand niece Laura Claire Stevens.
A Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Sparkman/Hillcrest.
