Marlin Godwin of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 22 at the age of 76. Born in Dallas, the dear son of the late Marlin and Virginia (Gault) Godwin of Mesquite, Texas. Marlin was cherished by his wife of 59 years, four children, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was a member of Bethell Assembly of God.
Marlin spent his life delivering numerous items from milk, chickens, wine, produce and wire, but he found his true love in “the big trucks” and on the open road. He crossed this country more times than we can count, but still took time to enjoy the beauty God created on this earth. Marlin enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, motorcycles, NASCAR or really anything that had to do with cars or had wheels on it.
The family will be holding a viewing to celebrate Marlin on Sunday from 3 to 5 pm and funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am. Both will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
