Martha Cruz-Alcorta Castillo

Martha Castillo, age 72, passed away on January 16, 2024 in Royse City, Texas. She was born on April 19, 1951 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico to Juan Ignacio Cruz and Maria Candelaria Cruz. Martha was raised in Dallas, Texas.

She married Bernardo Castillo in 1970 and the couple had 5 children. She was a food service employee at DISD where she worked for more than 10 years.

In her spare time Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, watching I Love Lucy reruns, and singing. Her family and friends will always remember her as a fun, always joking, caring, and thoughtful person.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernardo Castillo, parents, Juan Ignacio and Maria Candelaria Cruz, brother Ernesto Cruz Sr., and twin sister Maria Cruz-Vasquez.

She is survived by her sons Bernardo Jr. (Esther), Juan Carlos (Venessa), Ricardo (Claudia), Enrique, and Miguel Angel (Yvette). Her grandchildren, Destiny Yvette, Juan Carlos, Isabella, Bernardo Cruz, Natalie Celeste, Emily Samantha, Katherine Lauren, Michael Patrick, her great-grandchild Ethan Alexander, and her siblings, Norma DeAnda, Sylvia Garza, Diana Cruz, Santa Morado, Ramon Cruz, and Sonia Day.

A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
