Martha Mildred Krismer

Born into the Saunders Lumber Company pioneering family on January 30, 1928, in Gillette, Wyoming, she spent her childhood years in Hardin, Montana. Martha attended Montana State University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, selected Homecoming Queen and graduated in 1950. There, she met her future husband of 43 wonderful years, William R. (Bill) Krismer.

Martha was an amazing homemaker, wife and mother who seamlessly raised her children while supporting her husband in his corporate relocations that took their family to Memphis, Houston, and Dallas, where they finally settled. There, she worked for many years at the Josey Ranch Lake Library and was a long-time member of P.E.O. International and Highland Park United Methodist Church. Her love of music was expressed by serving in the choir as well as at her piano with a hymnal. She was also a keen gardener and lovingly maintained English inspired grounds at her home. Martha had many friends and was a well-loved member in all the communities in which she lived yet maintained her Montanan spirit throughout her life.

Martha is survived by her children Roberta Mullins (Dan), Joe Krismer, Carolyn Kalteyer (David Martindale), and Leslie Gilbert (Greg); grandchildren Robert Kalteyer (Allison), John Kalteyer (Sandy), Richard Kalteyer (Claire), Paige McKay (Will) and William Gilbert; great-granddaughter Blair McKay, brother-in-law John Krismer, sisters-in-law Pat and Shirley Saunders and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Mattie Saunders, husband Bill, granddaughter Faith Gilbert, son-in-law Ron Kalteyer and younger brothers Bob and Lloyd Saunders.

Martha was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A graveside service and reception will be held at 2PM on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
