I'm not sure words can describe how I felt about Aunt Martha.  We called her "Aint Matha" when we were little before we knew how to talk right!  Aunt Martha never minded...:)  She was so sweet and fun and such a gentle, loving spirit.  We all cherished our time with her.  I have so many great memories of being with Aunt Martha, Bob, Ann & Andy at Granny's house.  What fun we had!!  Aunt Marth was nothing short of an Angel.  She always cared about the other people in her live and never seemed to complain about anything.  What a wonderful lady.  Bob, Ann & Andy, I love you all so much and I'm sorry for your loss.  I will continue to pray for your peace as you move forward with life without Aunt Martha.  She will be missed on planet earth but I'm happy that she is with Granny and Grandpa.  Don't you know they are talking up a storm and having a grand time!!  I would love to see that and look foward to the day I can see them all again.  Until then, I will miss you my sweet "Aint Matha".  I'm so grateful you were in my life - what a HUGE blessing from God - thank you God for this precious lady you gave to us!! She never minded..:) She was the most sweet, gentle and loving spirit and was nothing short of an ANGEL.  I have so many sweet memories of being with her at Granny's house with Bob, Ann & Andy.  You all have always been very dear to me and I love you bunches.  I'm sad for your loss of this precious Mom and wife for you.  I remember so much laughter when we all spent time together.  I'm so happy I could see her to say goodbye but sorry I could not be at her funeral.  I was there in spirit.  I feel joy that she is with Granny and Grandpa, whom she missed so much!  Don't you know they are talking up a storm and having a grand time.  This gives me alot to look forward to....seeing them all again one day.  Aunt Martha you will be missed on planet earth as you were such a blessing to so many of us.  I praise God I had you in my life - what a wonderful blessing!!!  Love and hugs to all of you!!!

Along with my 2 brothers, I'm grieving over the loss of my sister Martha and also celebrating her as my loving sister. From as early as I can remember she was "Suster" to me, the slang that "Sister" gradually turned into without my knowing it. She accepted it and never said a word about it. I only came to realize what I was saying in my early 30s.  Afterward I made a big effort to say Martha, but she continued to be Sister in my mind. 

I remember when she was about 5-10 years old she was frightened of little puppies. That was strange to me since our Dad was a veterinarian and brought one or two home occasionally. If the puppies came into the room she would scream and jump up on a chair or the sofa. Guess she grew out of that over time. 

Martha always had a huge smile - you see it in all her photos. I think it was almost uncontrollable since she was so happy to be with those at whom she smiled. She was a happy and friendly girl and made others happy to be around her. She benefited many children by teaching in a public school and in Sunday School classes. Unlike me, she never got in trouble with anyone. Since we lived nearly 1,500 miles apart after she married, we rarely saw each other and when we did it was usually at our home place in Hueytown, AL or at family reunions. But it was always a comfort to know she was well off and loved by Bob, their children and grandchildren, and so many relatives and friends.

She was a wonderful mother to Ann and Andy and would do anything in a moment to help them. Once, when we both were in Hueytown helping our aging parents, she got a phone call and talked for a long time. Then she talked with our Mom and abruptly made arrangements to fly back to Dallas that evening. I found out much later that she had been talking to Andy on the phone and he needed her to help him make some important decisions. He came first in her life if needed, and she left to go help work things out.

Martha lived by love guiding her. I received a sympathy card from a friend that reminded me that love never perishes, and ultimately overrides sadness. I loved Martha very much and celebrate it being mutual. "I love you" were the last words we each said to each other over the phone a few weeks ago. Her love has now returned to God, but remains alive to me.

It's a tragedy that medical science has not progressed enough to deal with the disease that ultimately took her life. Her's was just one of many threatening illnesses that are still waiting for healing solutions. That will stimulate me to encourage and help fund medical research for the benefit of those in the future.

Growing up as a next door neighbor, I remember Martha as the often the sane voice among us kids.  Her consideration of others continued through her life.  
May God be with the family and friends through this time.

One of my fondest memories of Mrs. Livingston was when she and her daughter Ann gave me a bridal shower in our little apartment in Waco on a rainy day in 2001. Mrs. Livingston and her husband came to Waco from Dallas with a van full of the beautiful flower decorations from her own home. Whatever she did, she always did her very best. Our dull boring apartment came to live as she and husband kept bringing in pots and pots of the flowers. It was one of the happiest days and I will always remember, especially when the sky is grey and life is unbearable. She was an encouragement and will always be to me.

Martha was such a sweet person. Remember her from Pleasant Ridge when I was young.  I am sure she will be missed.  Prayers for her family and friends.

Bob, Andy and Ann....I have known precious Martha for over 60 years and she has always been a bright spot in my life. We became like sisters and I have loved her as dearly as anyone could love another person. The pain I feel cuts to my heart and I missed her before she was even gone. I love you all so much. Bob, you were such a wonderful husband.  Ann and Andy, you were the sweetest children and brought so much joy into our lives.Your mother was so proud of you.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope we can see one another soon. I wish so much l that I could be there. All my love, Vi.

In 2003, William and I invited Martha and Elvie to come meet us in Disneyworld. Martha said yes in a heartbeat. Looking back, I never gave her proper credit for not only managing two sets of luggage but also helping Elvie through the airport process, quite a feat considering Elvie was then 92 and needed assistance.  All this and then to be sharing a tiny (and I mean tiny) pop up trailer with us in the Wilderness campground at Disneyworld. Through it all Martha remained so poised, polite, sweet and fashionable. In addition, I got to watch the little girl inside of her come out and play, to gawk at the topiary or insist on us taking that ride. If any of the cramped quarters or busy schedule flustered her, she never lost the excitement of the adventure or that beautiful smile. We all had a blast at Disneyworld, with the three of us usually running after Elvie's electric wheel chair. We packed it all in and Martha had a magical time. I have revisited that trip many times and always with a smile, it will always be one of my favorite memories.

Bob, Ann & Andy; as you know, my sister was a special person.  She has graduated this lifetime Suma cum Laudewith highest honor.  All of us will miss her greatly and are all better people for having known and loved her.  No doubt, she is smiling and having her special impact in the spirit worldhigh-fiving her post graduate family & friends.  I have not thought of the it in years; however, that simple introduction (Bob, a microwave engineer at Collins Radio in Texas meets Martha, a first grade school teacher in Alabama) facilitated by my neighbor in Dallas, Marge Fulton, really set some great things in motion.   And, who knows how many great things will follow

Aunt Martha was such a sweet, caring, and gentle lady.  She was always so kind to our family and made every effort to attend any special event that she could.  I remember Martha & Bob coming to SMU to cheer camp to watch me perform in high school.  It was the heat of the summer and she was beautifully dressed, as always, and watched me with bright eyes and her big smile.  To Bob, Ann, & Andy...we love you very much and send our love!  I cherish the beautiful memories of Martha and know that you do as well.

Bob, Ann and Andy.  I love you all so much.  Thank you for sharing Aunt Martha with me.  She is my hero and I want to be like her when I grow up. She showed me how to "live a life worthy of the calling" she received.  I am so blessed to have had her in my life.  I will miss her so much. I am praying for you all.  In my heart I am grieving as are you but I praise God that we do not "grieve as those who have no hope."  I look forward to our reunion again in Heaven.  I often wonder what kind of exciting day Aunt Martha, Granny and Grandpa are having with Jesus in their presence.  "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Martha was a very wonderful friend and neighbor. She was always kind and such a dependable person whose incredibly positive attributes are reflected in her children, grandchildren, and her husband Bob. She faithfully served the Lord.

Mrs. Livingston will be missed.  She was a kind and sweet person and we are richer for having known her.

I had the honor to get to know Mrs. Livingston through my sister who was the roommate of Mrs. Livingston's daughter Ann. Mrs. Livingston was always beautiful both inside and outside. Every time I saw her, she took time to talk with me and asked how I was doing and cared about me with a genuine heart. She was an example of what a Proverb 31 women should be. I am so sorry that she passed away and I miss her very much.

Mrs. Livingston was one of the kindest and sweetest godly women I have ever met in my life. She always treated my family and me with respect. Her humble and servanthood spirit will remain with me forever. We all miss her very much.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones." (Psalm 116:15)  Aunt Martha loved the Lord--her living testimony of that is the most precious legacy she could leave her family who remain.  She had the "imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)  We will remember her for her sweet gentleness and the desire it leaves in us to learn from her example.  Our prayers will be with the family as they grieve over her loss.

So sorry to hear this news.  Love and prayers are with you.  Many fond memories of Martha at church and as a parent at University Park Elementary.

Aunt Martha was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known.  I will miss her sweet smile and the sound of her voice.  I remember spending time with her as a little girl, playing dress up in her dressy shoes and clothes, trying on lipstick and perfume...I always thought she was so fancy and ladylike.  I will miss hearing her call me by the nickname she and Bob gave me, Christame.  She was always so sweet and kind to me and all of my family; she sent birthday cards to every one of us for as long as I can remember and she attended every wedding and graduation that it was possible for her to attend.    I will miss having her here on this earth, she was a special lady.

Martha had a pure a heart, and was one of the sweetest people I have ever known.  I will miss seeing her in the church.  Bob, Ann and Andy, I am so sorry for your loss.  She loved you so very much.

My sweet Aunt Martha was always so very loving to everyone!  She always made me feel special and she always remembered me at every birthday! She was an amazing example as a Christian, a Mother, a Sister, and of course as my Aunt!  She was gentle and noble and was so very thoughtful!  

I have wonderful memories of staying with her and Uncle Bob and playing with Ann and Andy (cousins) many times.  She took us to church, the community pool, the indoor amusement park and so many places to keep us entertained.  And she was an awesome cook too!  I will surely miss her sweet voice and wonderful smile!  She always had a positive outlook on life and had an amazing faith that got her through so much!  

We love you Aunt Martha and you will surely be missed!

Martha and I share a lot of memories and a lot of long conversations through the years. She even wore my wedding dress when her and Bob married. Can you believe I was that thin at one time :). Of course Martha has stayed thin forever.

I will miss her tremendously as I know her family will as well. Time has gone by way too fast. It's hard for me to comprehend she is gone. We love you guys, you all are in our prayers.

Jimmy and Glenda Wade.  I am Martha's first cousin.  Growing up Uncle Howard would take a car  full of kids to swim in the Coosa River.  We were so broke we couldn't pay to go any where else.  We had to ride home in our wet bathing suits.  When we got back to their house Martha and I went into a room to change.  When I lowered my suit, several small fish came flopping out.  You never heard such squealing and screaming.  Scared Aunt Elvie to death!  Only one of my precious memories of our times together.
