Mary Elizabeth Dewberry Boren was born to Hallye Mary and Arch Dewberry on January 14, 1925. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1942 and Hockaday Junior College, then earning her degree in Journalism from SMU.
After working for the Dallas Times Herald Mary she met and married her lifetime husband Dr. W. Dunlap Boren of Ennis, Texas. They moved to Lancaster where he had a thriving practice and they had two children, William D. Boren, Jr. (deceased) and Hallye Mary Boren.
Following the death of Dr. Boren, Mary Elizabeth moved to Newport Beach, CA to be near her daughter, Mary who looked after her with great care and love until her passing at age 90 on April 24, 2015.
Mary Elizabeth was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ wherever she resided.
She is survived by daughter Hallye Mary Zollman, husband Mike and two granddaughters Olivia and Chloe Zollman and brother, Dr. J. A. (Bob) Dewberry and wife Barbara and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service of her life will be celebrated Saturday, May 2 2015 at 12:00 pm noon at Sparkman-Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W.
