Born in Dallas, Texas, on September 4, 1947, to Henry Olin and Mary Agnes Killough, Olinda grew up with a love for learning and a heart for service—qualities that shaped her life and her ministry to others. She pursued her education with dedication, earning an associate degree from Dallas Baptist University, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas, and a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University.
On January 29, 1966, Olinda married the love of her life, Edwin Randolph Dresser. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and service.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her devoted husband, Edwin; her children, Rosemary (Vernon) Yow, David (Amy) Dresser, Jason (Katie) Dresser, and John Dresser; her brother, Dennis (Carolyn) Killough; and many beloved grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of faith and love.
A gifted educator, Olinda began her teaching career in Dallas and Carrollton, where she touched countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and wisdom. Later, she continued her calling as a parent educator, guiding and encouraging families with the same warmth and care she gave her own.
Olinda’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She joyfully sang in the choir at First Baptist Church of Carrollton, especially cherishing the annual Christmas performances celebrating the birth of Christ. She also shared the gospel with children through the Good News Club, faithfully planting seeds of faith in young hearts.
The Apostle Paul described the women in Timothy’s life as having a “sincere faith”—a faith genuine and without hypocrisy. That same faith was evident in Olinda. Her life was marked by goodness, love, and steadfast devotion to her Savior.
“Surely goodness and love followed her all the days of her life, and she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” — Psalm 23:6
