

Mary Ladine Nichols Hope was born on December 27, 2023, and raised with her twin sister, older brother and younger sister at the foot of a mountain in Moreland, Arkansas. Mary passed away peacefully at home in Granbury, Texas with her daughter Angie and son-in-law by her side on April 20, 2026.
Mary graduated high school in 1942 in Clarksville, Arkansas and graduated from Business College to further her education and began working at Sears Roebuck & Company as a billing clerk. Afterwards, she went to work at the Northwest Defense Plant in Grand Prairie, Texas as a “Rosie the Riveter” on the P-51 Mustang aircraft. Mary met her husband, Woodie, at Northwest while he was an inspector on the B-24 Bombers. Mary and Woodie were married on November 10, 1943, at their pastor’s home in Dallas, Texas, and made a home in Oak Cliff, Texas.
Mary and Woodie enjoyed 66 years of marriage before Woodie’s passing in 2009. They retired and moved to the Mabank Texas area on 17 acres. They enjoyed working several cattle, tending the chickens and goats, taking care of their daughter’s horses and growing their vegetable garden. Both were members of the First Baptist Church of Eustace, Texas and both gave their longevity, health and love to the Glory of God. Mary loved her family and friends fiercely and always lit up the room with her smile and infectious giggle.
Mary is survived by her two children, Jerry Wayne Hope and wife Jeanne Hope of Afton, Tennessee. Daughter Angela Lynn Hope Stevenson and husband Marshall Linzy Stevenson of Granbury, Texas.Granddaughter Gina Marie Hope of Dallas, Texas; Grandson Steven Wayne Hope of Afton, Tennessee and great-grandchildren Tyler Hope of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ashley Vaughan and husband Andy Vaughn Bristol, Tennessee with great-great granddaughter Delfina Vaughn; Grandson Dustin Linzy Stevenson and wife Heather Stevenson of Kemp, Texas and great grandchildren Hayden Stevenson, Payten Stevenson, Kaysen Stevenson and Adalynn Stevenson; and Grandson Austin Lee Stevenson and wife Heather Stevenson of Royse City, Texas and great-grandchildren Ryder Stevenson and Rhett Stevenson.
