Grace was the youngest of six children born to Rosaria Carangelo Guidone and Luigi Guidone. She met Dudley Jones, an Air Force Cadet at Yale University during World War II while she was working for the FBI. He asked her to marry him two weeks after they met, and they were married six months later, and shared a magical life for 66 years.
Her mission in life was to make everyone she met feel the importance of their being and know they were loved. She greeted everyone with her incomparable smile and gracious demeanor.
After the war, she and Dudley settled in Texas, living in Fort Worth where their daughter, Jeanette Lamont was born and later in Marshall, Wichita Falls and Dallas.
Through her work in Wichita Falls with public schools as a PTA president, Camp Fire Girl leader, Board of Education and her dedicated participation in the March of Dime Rainbow Girls and local politics, she forged lasting relationships with those she met and counseled.
After moving to Dallas, she and Dudley traveled extensively, presided over the NorthPark AARP and volunteered wherever they could be of service.
Grace is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dudley; her parents, Rosaria and Luigi Guidone; her brothers, Carmine, Pat, Frank, Joey and sister, Laura. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Lamont; step-grandchildren, Bill Lamont and wife, Mary Noel and Kathleen Lamont; step-great-grandchildren, Max Lamont and wife, Hallie, Miles Lamont and wife, Nicolette; and step-great-great-grandchildren, Will Lamont, Harrison Lamont, John Lamont, Henry Lamont and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to give sincere and grateful thanks to her dedicated, loving and tireless caregivers, Shirley Armstrong and Kathy O’Neal, whom she dearly loved, Bluebonnet Hospice, and the incredible loving staff of doctors, nurses, aides and technicians at the Medical Center of Plano who provided a safe haven. We are forever grateful to Dr. William C. Reardon who was always there to make each year possible.
