

She was born on June 25, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Constant Bryant and Sylvia Henderson. Maxine was known for her unwavering love for God, her upbeat personality, and the laughter she brought into every room. She enjoyed working in her yard, solving puzzles, and was especially famous among family and friends for her delicious sweet potato pies during the holidays.
Maxine worked briefly as a nurse and later as a housekeeper in her community, but her greatest joy was found in the love she poured into her family and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and faith.
She is survived by her children: Teresa, Diane, Brenda, Herman, and Arthur; her siblings: Charles, Mark, and Sheila; her grandchildren: Constance, Cynthia, Brenda (Sha), Bobby, Angelika, Alvin, Brandon, Corey, Dewanda, Dee, Tiffany, Raynisha, Rita (RiRi), Tiffina, Shanequel; 34 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Jackson Sr.; her daughter, Marilyn Jackson; her son, Charles Jackson; her parents, Constant Bryant and Sylvia Henderson; her brothers, Johnell, Donell, Michael, James, and Constant Bryant; her sisters, Claudette and Edith Bryant; her grandchildren, Eugene, Arthur II; her great-grandchildren, Dravin and Aaliyah McGee; and her great-great-grandchildren, Louis Coleman Jr. and Kamyriah Johnson.
