Mazie Lawrence

Anna Mae Lawrence, known as Mazie to everyone, was born December 27, 1925 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Walter Sr. and Ida R. Reifschlaeger. Mazie passed away peacefully at her home on March 22, 2011. She grew up in Yorktown, Texas with her 5 brothers and sisters. Mazie was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas and spent 20 years working with Catholic Charities. She was a dedicated mother raising 7 children and was known for being the neighborhood mom.

Mazie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Lawrence Jr., two sons, Dale and John, and siblings, Helen, Frank and Edward. She leaves behind her children, Anne, Gregory, Stephen, Charles and Mark; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie; brother, Walter “Buddy,” and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be recited 7 pm, Friday, March 25, 2011, with visitation before and after from 6-8 pm at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home in Dallas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd. Dallas, TX 75228, with Rev. Daniel Kelley presiding. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, TX. Arrangements under the direction of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
