

Willoughby, M.C. M.C. "Will/Ruff" Willoughby, 89, of Venus, passed on peacefully at home Monday, February 23, 2015. He was born on February 2, 1926 in Maydelle, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Marie Willoughby of Venus, his son Michael Willoughby, wife Kendra, and granddaughter Zoe of Midlothian, his step-daughters, Linda Schell of Mesquite, Joan Hebert of Sacramento, California, Dolores Weaver of Grand Prairie and his grandsons Brian Weaver of Grand Prairie, Nicolas Schell of Mesquite, Jordan Schell of Mesquite and Forrest Hebert of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul "Bud" and Annie Willoughby; sisters, Pauline Graham and Hazel Hart and brother, O.J. Willoughby. M.C. enlisted twice in the United States Navy. His first enlistment was from 1943-1946 where he reached the rank of Seaman 1st Class. He served on the USS Appalachian taking part in the invasion of Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, Guam, Leyte, Luzon and the Occupation of Japan. His second enlistment was from 1950-1954 where he reached the rank of AEM3. He worked as an airplane technician at the NAS in Dallas, Texas, the NAS in Pensacola, Florida, and Whiting Field in Milton, Florida and NAAS in Kingsville, Texas. M.C will be greatly missed by all who know and love him. Graveside Services will be held Monday, 11:30AM, 3/2/15 at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
