Melvin L Mitchell

Melvin L. Mitchell (Mitch) was born July 21, 1960 to the parents of Albert T. Mitchell Sr., and Marylyn Frances Mitchell in Dallas, Texas. Melvin attended Dallas Schools; T.D. Marshall, Clara Oliver, Boude Story, and South Oak Cliff High School where he graduated in 1978. He later served a term in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of Community First Baptist during his childhood years where he accepted Christ. In his adult years he became a member of Rising Star and now currently a member of Holy Spirit Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Felder U. Howard where he served in the choir and devotional services.

Melvin married Jacqueline Owens Mitchell on June 13, 1981 in Altus, Oklahoma. To this union, three daughters were born: Teena, Veronica, and Emily.

Melvin departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert T. Mitchell Sr., Marylyn Frances, brothers; Robert Wayne, David, and sister Vickie Joyce.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 39 years Jacqueline Mitchell, daughters; Teena (Ferell) Holt of The Colony, Texas, Veronica Mitchell of Dallas, Texas, Emily Mitchell of Dallas, Texas, brother Albert T. Mitchell Jr., of Dallas, Texas, special brother Rendell May of Dallas, Texas, sister Kay Frances Haggerty, grandsons; Travelle Jenkins Jr., and Quintrick Bickman Jr., nephews; Lydell (Sherrica) Haggerty, Craig Haggerty, Vernon Haggerty, niece Quita (Matt) Bricka, and a host of grand nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
