

Melvin accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Church of the Living God, P.G.T., in Athens, Texas.
He attended Athens High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1991.
While attending Athens High School, he was a member of the high school marching band. Melvin was incredibly talented. He was also a member of the Athens High School Performance Choir and had a melodious voice. He received a full scholarship to Trinity Valley Community College, Athens, Texas.
Melvin later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he worked at Chase Bank for many years.
After moving to Dallas, he united with Griggs Chapel Baptist Church. Melvin sang in the Sanctuary and Mass Choirs.
He loved the Lord, and he also had a passion for singing.
Melvin sang with several Gospel groups, namely, the Avery Singers and Rebirth, of Athens, TX; Charles Webb and Atonement, and God’s Property, both of Dallas, TX.
He also loved sports. Melvin was a fan of Serena Williams (Tennis) and a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs (Football).
Melvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his “Granny,” Viletha Richardson, and a nephew, Braylon Everett Morgan.
Melvin leaves to cherish his precious memories, his Mother, Debra Richardson Alexander (Paul), Temple, TX; Father, Albert Smith, Ft. Worth, TX; Twin Brother, Michael Richardson (Shay), Tyler, TX; Sister, Awana Morgan (Billy), Dallas, TX; Sister in Love, Cheryl Massey (Darrell); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
