Mercedes Nunez Romo, age 82 passed away on August 11, 2012. Mercedes was born on May 29, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mercedes is preceded in death by her mother Trinidad Nunez, father David Nunez, brother George Nunez, sisters Cruz Pizana, Juanita Rivera, brother Amado Nunez, children Daniel Romo Jr., Margaret Mercedes Romo, and Simon Nunez, and husband Daniel V. Romo. Mercedes is survived by her children Olga Casillas, Reynaldo Peter Romo and wife Kathy, Jessie Daniel Romo and wife Kari, daughters Anastacia R. Navarrete and husband Armando, Teresa Puente-Ezpitia and husband Marco, Evangeline Quinones and husband Geovani, brothers David Nunez Jr. and wife Mary, Peter Nunez and wife Tomasa, Jacob Nuñez and wife Minerva, and sisters Victoria Ortiz, and Fermina Zarate and husband Manuel, and 17 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and numerous Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and Friends.Mercedes was married to Daniel V. Romo for 55 years. They made their home in Pleasant Grove. Mercedes was a devoted member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She dedicated a lot of her time to providing service to the church and St. Augustine Catholic School. She was a wonderful mother who raised 8 children along with 5 grandchildren. Mercedes will always be loved and remembered by her children, family and friends. Vigil service at 6 pm on Tuesday, April 14th at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Dallas at 10 am on Wednesday, August 15th. Interment will follow at 11:30 am at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas
