2/17/1942 - 7/21/2021
Merrilyn was born in Akron, Ohio. While growing up in Ohio, she married her high school sweetheart, Joel Frank, and they began their family by having four beautiful children. Forever passionate about their family, when their first grandson was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1983, they followed to DFW with their remaining children. Merrilyn quickly began making an impact on her new community.
Merrilyn was a proud member of The Container Store team for 25 years and held several leadership positions there throughout the years, improving the lives and careers of those who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
It was Merrilyn’s lifelong mission to impact the lives of those around her for the better. She was a devoted friend, passionate mentor and inspiring leader to so many. She left a huge wake behind her, impacting the lives of so many and of far more people than she was aware. Merrilyn was open-minded, inquisitive, ahead of her time and encouraged those around her to also strive for those ideals. She could always add an insightful “but, did you also know” to almost any conversation. Ever the renaissance woman, she was also a talented artist, gardener, scrapbooker, seamstress, hairstylist and avid reader. She could even drive a boat and spent many hours patiently pulling the grandchildren on wake boards and tubes.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Joel, and surviving children Tana Frank, Allan Frank (and his wife Corinne) and Heidi Pervere (and her husband Doug). She was a larger-than-life Nana to seven amazing grandchildren who were the lights of her life: Benjamin Tenenholtz, Evan Tenenholtz, Camille Tenenholtz, Jeremy Frank, Brooke Frank, Leslie Pervere and Sophie Pervere.
A private family graveside funeral was held on Friday, July 23, at Sparkman Hillcrest.
