He is preceded in death by his parents Jeeves Carpenter and Dorothy Dee Archer.
Michael is survived by his wife Gay Carpenter , son John Carpenter and wife Monica, son Bill Carpenter, 2 grandchildren Stephanie Warnock and husband Edward and Michael Carpenter and wife Rachel, 2 great grandchildren Jamisyn and Rutledge Warnock.
Michael was an avid Chess Player and was a member of the Dallas Chess Club.
