To the Grant Family I had to pleasure of meeting Michael while running track for his father the Late Great Boston P. Michael would come and assist from time to time. I just wanted to let you all know you're in my prayers and to always remember God makes no mistakes and though he's absent from the body he's even more alive in spirit and the memories you hold.

It saddens me to read about the loss of Michael.  I sat behind him in Spanish class at Grand Prairie High School and enjoyed the bantering back and forth as I tried to focus on Mrs. Benskin's lessons.  Listening to Michael's jokes and comments was way more fun than Spanish.  Phyllis and I were Geepettes together and met up years later at Parkland Hospital and Southwestern Medical School.  Michael had sent me a friend request on Facebook a year or two ago, and I was so happy to reconnect.  I remember the Grants well and offer my deepest condolences for their loss. 


Today we laid a beautiful soul to rest and the world will not be same without you Daddy Grant. I met Lauren and the Grant family when I was just 14 years old. Now being well into my 30’s I have known them for over half of my life. Daddy Grant was there for all the major milestones, prom, graduation, college, my wedding and the life of my kids. I’ll miss him yelling at teenage Lauren and I, I’ll miss the crazy, I’ll miss the long stories, him fixing me plates piled with food I won’t finish and I’ll miss that crazy high pitched laugh of his. But most of all I’ll miss him quietly telling me how proud he is of Lauren and Brandon and how much he can’t live without Mama Grant...right after he just yelled at them for not cleaning up. 😂 Boy he would set you straight and love you up all in the same breath. 
Rest In Peace Daddy Grant, thank you for everything, thank you for my best friend and second family and thank you for loving me and my family like your own. You will be missed!❤️

Papa Grant. I still can’t believe you’re actually gone. I will miss you so much and am so sad that you never got to see the babies. I will always remember you and how you would call me and Lauren crazy. I will always remember how much you love your family and everyone who entered into your home. I will always remember the story of how you felt when you first met Lauren and how you felt when you first held her in your arms. Daddy’s little girl for sure. I will never forget how you and Lauren would argue/debate about everything and anything. I am going to miss seeing you and hearing your voice. I know you’re up there watching over all of us. Although you’re no longer here on Earth. I know you will always be in our hearts. Love you Papa Grant <3 


To the family of Michael Grant: 

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of my friend Michael Grant. Remembering all the fun memories and wonderful times we spent together as friends fills me with joy. We were neighbors living just a few houses apart for over ten years and remain friends until his passing. 

Wishing you courage, strength and love to help you through this loss.  Mike will always stay ageless in the memories of those who loved him.

My fist encounter with Mike was when our boys were no more than 7 years old playing on opposing soccer team. I watch him as he emphatically motivated Brandon to score if he wanted to have his birthday party.  As I watched, I wonder “who is this guy” and “what a way to motivate.”  After the game we talked until my wife said we had to go lol. It wasn’t until our boys were in high school that we would meet again and even though many years had passed I knew who he was because he had not changed one bit!  Michael loved his family, he was fearless, outspoken if challenged and generous.  He will never be forgotten!

To the Family I'm sending you our deepest sympathy.  I will miss you Mike from years working together in  high school at Six Flags and playing football together at Tennessee State. 

I loved the way you Guys all joked and debated and gave each other a hard time at our family gatherings.  You made me laugh so much!  Such a beautiful family! I’m so sorry for your loss. I love you Aunt Sharon, Lauren and Brandon. ♥️

I went to high school with Michael.  He was always a class act, a man of integrity, fun and such a joy to be around..   I am blessed our paths crossed back then.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but please know he touched many lives during his life and will be fondly remembered. 

My Families Prayers and Condolences to the Family of My TSU Team Mate and Friend 

My condolences to the family. Michael was a great man. Met him through the boys Brandon and Kiante. I can still hear him cheering at the football games from little league to high school. Loved his family. Sharon, Lauren and Brandon y’all are in my prayers. I love y’all 😘❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽

Simply put, I’m gonna miss Mike! The long stimulating conversations we had. Mike was like a big brother to me! What a friend we have in Mike! He stuck with me through thick  and thin! That’s what real friends do! If he didn’t hear from me, he would call and say what’s up?  Mike was a excellent conversationalist! He could talk about anything and knew a lot about everything! He was a Jack of all trades and mastered many! Mike could do anything if and when he put his mind to it! He indeed was a few men who stood out 
 among many ! I’m gonna miss him dearly! Sharon, Lauren, Brandon and Mrs. Grant, stay in touch because Mike would have that way!  🙏🏿 

I am truly sorry, we didn't have more time to build a relationship. Things in life happen for reasons we may not even have answers to at the time. I didn't feel a real absence because everyone tried to overcompensate for you not being in my life including your dad. After having learned what little I did from you in the last few months to a few years, that will have to suffice. Divorce nor death are easy for any man or woman, but closure helps and I forgive you.  I prayed and asked God to please watch over you. You have affected a lot of people's lives and seemed to be loved by your friends. I thank you for video chatting to see your grand-daughter. This is hard for me, because I had hoped for the best, but you are in a better place, with better company. I had relationships with my grandfathers. I wish she would have had an opportunity to be your grandbaby like I was to my grandfathers.  I can only think of what to tell my little girl about you when she starts asking where is her grandfather. I will say you left for Heaven far too soon.  Rest In Heaven. Love Requita, Mark, and Reign

As you say farewell to Michael - The thoughts of the Dalworth neighborhood in Grand Prairie, Texas are with you. Many of the students at Dalworth Elementary/High School were taught by Michael’s dad, Coach Boston P. Grant, and had the privilege of watching Michael grow up.
