Michael Leroy Penton

Michael Leroy Penton, 76, a longtime resident of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on May 28, 1949, in Gainesville, Texas, to Leroy Penton and Lorraine Penton (née Muras).

Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was centered on family and steadfast dedication to those he loved. He carried deep pride in his family and found great joy in time spent with them, offering guidance, humor, and unwavering support. Known for his reliability and quiet strength, Michael leaves behind a legacy of commitment and love that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Michael worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas for over 25 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty. His long career reflected the consistency, responsibility, and perseverance he carried throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Penton; his children, David Penton and wife Melanie, Edward Penton and wife Michelle, William Penton and wife Laura, Rodger Penton and wife Elysia, and Melissa Penton and husband Scott Shell. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ava Penton and Jack Penton; Edward Penton II and Alexandra Penton; James Penton; and Lillian Shell.

Michael is additionally survived by his siblings, Patrick Penton, Amanda Berman and husband Daniel Berman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Lorraine Penton, and his siblings Mary Theresa Penton and Jeffrey Mark Penton.

Michael’s life reflected perseverance, loyalty, and quiet generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, on March 24, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228, on March 25, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, TX 75088, on March 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
