Michelle Leek Sutton

Michelle Sutton was born August 23, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, the middle child of Leonard and Patricia (Hughes) Leek. Michelle passed away on November 28, 2016 in Rockwall, Texas. Michelle was raised in Dallas, TX, and moved with her family to Austin, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Huntington Beach, California, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lancaster, Ohio.

In 1986, Michelle graduated from William V. Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster, Ohio and attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She transferred to SMU in Dallas, Texas and graduated with a BA in Political Science in 1991.

Michelle earned an MLA from SMU in 1995. She earned an MBA from Oklahoma City University in 2000. She attended the University of Tulsa College of Law where she earned a JD in 2000 and was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas that same year.

It was at law school that she met her husband, Robert Sutton. They were married on August 15, 1998.

Throughout her legal career, Michelle served as Assistant District Attorney in Kaufman County, Associate Judge and Special Sitting Judge for Dallas County Probate Court #3, Dallas County Probate Courts Investigator/Guardianship Attorney, and a solo practitioner.

Michelle is survived by husband, Robert, her daughters, Mary Ann and Monica Lynn. She is also survived by her parents, Leonard and Patricia Leek, her brother, Brian Leek, her niece, Lin Michelle Leek, her nephew, Vincent Leek, and her sister, Monica Leek. Michelle also leaves dearly loved extended family and friends.

Please join the Michelle’s family in remembering and celebrating the life of Michelle Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, Texas. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, Texas.
