Morris Burgess Jr.

5 enero , 19337 mayo , 2021

Morris Burgess Jr. of Red Oak, Texas passed on to be with the Lord on May 7, 2021. Born and raised in Eudora, Arkansas on January 5, 1933, to parents Mr. and Mrs. Morris Sr. and Ollie Burgess.

Morris joined the US Air Force in 1951 and retired with an honorable 23yr career. After retirement, he worked for General Motors and later as an entrepreneur in the Dallas area for many years. During his career in the Air Force, Morris married Lillye D. Nelson (Burgess) in 1959 and to that union three children, Twyla, Morris III and Lonnie were born. Lillye preceded him in death in 1994 and their daughter, Twyla, in 1997. Lillye was a caring devoted wife and mother. Morris remarried to Renae Berotte in 2011. Renae was also a caring devoted wife helping with many of Morris’ health challenges.

Morris came from a large family in Arkansas. His parents and two siblings, Frank and Dorothy Jean, preceded him in death. Surviving children of the marriage and those left to cherish his memory are sons, Dr. Morris Burgess III and wife Debi; Lonnie Burgess Sr. and wife Kerri; and eight grandchildren. Morris also leaves behind four brothers and one sister: Charles, Robert, Gwen, Eddie Joe, and Kirby Burgess. He has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, blended family and friends that will also cherish his memory. Morris loved life and his family. As the oldest of 8 children, he was fun to be around and enjoyed using humor to make others laugh.

He definitely will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. As per his final wishes, there will be no services. Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Mr. B. was always so sweet and kind. I even worked for him a few times at the dress shop. He will be truly missed. Prayers for his wife and entire family.
