Moses Arredondo was born in Dallas, Texas December 5, 1951, to the parents Mrs. Josephine Arredondo and father, Mr. Paul Arredondo. Together they had nine children, Paul Jr, Richard, Lucinda, Odelia, Alfred, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and Earnest.
As a child, Moses had good spirits and always wanted to be with his brothers and sisters. Together, they learned quickly to depend on one another during difficult times in their lives. As Moses grew, he became interested in sports and mechanics. After graduating high school, he volunteered to enlist in the United States Air Force on August 1, 1973. The day of his enlistment and departure for basic training, Military Police arrived at their family’s home with the intent of seizing Moses to serve in the U.S. Army due to him being drafted during the Vietnam War. This proved to be unsuccessful since Moses already shipped for the U.S. Air Force. After training, he served with the 463rd Field Maintenance Squadron aboard Dyess Air Force Base, Texas as a Jet Engine Mechanic Specialist for the C-130 Hercules Cargo Aircraft. He deployed overseas to England to work on aircraft engines to help support military operations in the European Command.
On August 12, 1977, Moses was Honorably Discharged as an E-4 Sergeant and returned home to Dallas, Texas. On April 1, 1981, he married Pamela Lynn Gutierrez and had one child in May of 1982. He worked a series of jobs across the Dallas/Fort Worth area including as an ice machine mechanic to help support his family. On January 31, 1991, Moses was reactivated by the U.S. Air Force to serve aboard Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas as an aircraft mechanic and, was again, honorably discharged on January 30, 1993. Moses and Pamela divorced in 1992.
Moses continued to live in the Dallas area working for Dallas Yellow Cab as a cab driver and then a cab dispatcher. He moved to Mesquite, Texas in 2003 and soon began working as a Medicaid driver with Yellow Cab to transport patients to their doctor’s appointments then drove them back home. He continued the job until 2012 when he was unable to continue his occupation due to medical reasons. Moses remained in Mesquite close with many family members and friends until his son relocated him to North Richland Hills, Texas in 2020 to be closer to him to provide care and assistance. In 2024, Moses was moved to San Antonio, Texas to be close to his son and daughter-in-law Mrs. Jessica Arredondo until his passing on April 11, 2026.
Throughout his life, the most important thing to Moses was his family of siblings, many nieces and nephews and, of course, his son. One of his favorite things to do was cheer for his number one team, The Dallas Cowboys. He always enjoyed going outdoors to have camping trips with family and cookouts either at his house or parks. Those that were close to him knew his choice of music was always Motown, Oldies but Goodies, and Classic Rock. He was always willing to help his loved ones if he had the means to. He
offered much fellowship, mentorship, and wisdom to those around him. Everyone knew they could always count on Moses for guidance and assistance.
Moses was 74 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his son Mr. Jason Arredondo, Jason’s wife Jessica, and their three children Jiselle, Maricella, and Jason Jr.
