

December 22, 2022. Imogene was born in Marquez,Texas on March 2, 1929, to
Joseph Harmon Burgin and Beulah Mae (Perry) Burgin. Imogene knew she was
a child of God and this was evident by her selflessness and unconditional love
that she felt for others.
Imogene was raised in Jewett,Texas she graduated from Jewett High
School. Where she starred in Volleyball. Following graduation she moved In 1947
to Dallas, There she worked as a Telephone Operator, Before becoming a
Kindergarten Teacher.She taught Kindergarten for 14 years at Dallas Christian
School.
She met Felix George Freeman, While attending Saner Avenue Church of
Christ, With her sister Ila Minkler. They were later married at Saner Avenue
Church of Christ. They had two sons Stanley Keith Freeman and Gary Dwain
Freeman.
She had many hobbies working with her hands, Sewing, cross stitch,
embroidery, painting, and her favorite crocheting. She crocheted red,white,blue
lap blankets and hats for veterans, Until her last week. She also enjoyed her
flower garden, and watching the birds and squirrels while she drank her 5 o’clock
coffee.
Imogene was a member of Clark road Church of Christ. She couldn't do
enough for her church. She cooked, sang , took care of shut in people, so they
wouldn't do without. She took people to appointments and set with them while
they were ill. She helped in many ways.
Preceding her in death is her husband Felix George Freeman, son Stanley
Keith Freeman, Brothers Bobby Burgin, Valton Burgin, Joseph Dalton Burgin.
Sisters Lois Williams and Ila Minkler. Grandson Brett Freeman
Surviving her son Gary Dwain Freeman, Brother Edgar Burgin,
Granddaughters Lacey Freeman and Marlee Freeman; Great Grandchildren
Dwalyn, Landon, Audriana, Lorelie, Taetyn, Calen, Silas. Great Great
Grandchildren Jupiter, Indiana. And many Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
Imogene lived a christian life. She Loved her family with a pure, deep,
unconditional love.
