

Nancy “Gayle” Bowers, 69, of Royse City, TX went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Dallas, TX on February 18, 1955 to E.W. and Edna Patterson. She was the eldest of three children. She graduated from Mesquite High School in 1973.
Gayle worked as a substitute teacher for Royse City ISD. She enjoyed spending time with her family where she was best known as “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She enjoyed cooking meals for everyone and anytime she was in charge of dinner you knew there would be enough food to feed an army. Her most highly requested meal by her family was her pot roast.
If you knew Gayle, you knew she always kept an unlimited supply of Diet Dr. Pepper on hand. Something not many people knew about her was her musical ability. She was talented at the piano and served as the pianist at her church. She had a knack for interior decorating and her house always looked immaculate. You wouldn’t dare be caught wallering on her beds after they were made.
Gayle was preceded in death by her father E.W. Patterson. She is survived by her sons, Jacob Wenzel and Ryan Wenzel, along with their wives Janie and Kelli; her six grandchildren, Zachary Wenzel and his wife Shelby, Alexa Daniel and her husband Mike, Kayla Wenzel, Gage Mitchell, Jacklynn Wenzel, Jesslynn Wenzel and her great-grandson, Maddox Daniel. Additionally, she will be missed by her mother, Edna Patterson; her brother, Dan Patterson and his wife Pam and brother, Scott Patterson.
A visitation for Nancy will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Memorial Park ( Garden of Lawnview) , 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 with Bro. Jim Everidge officiating
