

On April 11, 1956, Norman James Dotson, Sr. was born to Herman Ealleam and Florence Dotson in Fort Worth, TX. In 1965, Norman, his mother and grandmother, moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he was raised by two special women. Norman Dotson, Sr., confessed his life to Christ at an early age in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Detroit Public Schools and later attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. While attending Wayne State University, he worked in the steel mills before moving to Texas. After moving to Texas, Norman began working at Dallas’ Sheriff Department. While working here, he met his wife of 31 years. He married Andrelette Benton Dotson on July 11, 1988, where 4 children were raised from this union. Norman’s career continued at AT&T. He worked at AT&T for 20 year, until he retired in 2015. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Ealleam and Florence Dotson; and one brother, Melvin Ricky Terrell. He leaves in God’s care: a devoted wife, Andrelette Dotson, four children, Darian Howard, Sr. (Shakemha) of Glenn Heights, TX, Batina Dotson and Rhondi Dotson of Detroit, MI, and Norman Dotson, Jr. of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Christopher Massenburg, Darian “Deuce” Howard Jr., Victoria Massenburg, Dasia Howard, Desirae Howard, Darius Howard and Lawrence Harris; four brothers, Deckard Dotson, Sr. (Pamela) of Detroit, Wayne Neal Dotson, Michael Dean Dotson and Toney Darnell Dotson; one sister Angela Dotson Pipken of California; one brother in law, Lewis Benton, Jr. of Lancaster, TX; two sisters in law, Sundra McWoods (Edmund) of Desoto, TX and Alphonia Brown (Michael) of Lancaster, TX; eleven nieces and nephews, Lisa, Deckard Jr., Shawn, Lakiesha Dotson of Detroit, MI, Lewis III and Letirane Benton of Lancaster, TX, Ariyelle and Michael Brown of Lancaster, TX, Edmund Jr., Ayana and Nya McWoods of Desoto, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends that truly love him.
