Johnnie Dean Kelly - born April 13, 1959, 7:17 A.M. in Cortez, Colorado -- went to his heavenly home on April 12, 2013, 9:05 P.M. in Mesquite, Texas. He is known by several names -- "Nub" to family and friends, "Hot Dog" to his two grandsons -- and the others we won't go into here! Nub is survived by his parents, Vernon and Sue Kelly, son, Benson Kelly; daughter Summer Naylor and two grandsons, Cameron Naylor and Darren Kelly and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nub was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Benson and Maye Dowden, and brother, Richard "Ricky" Kelly.
He loved the Dallas Cowboys, win, lose, draw or "in the dirt"! He also loved NASCAR and loved it when the races were on his birthday -- what a weekend that made for him and his friends!
Nub had a sense of humor that was funny and sometimes what we called "sick" but we were laughing when we said it! He was a natural magnet for small kids and animals. A man with a loving heart and a gentle soul -- who loved his family.
He will be missed by his family, extended family and many, many friends. Vaya con dios until we meet again!
