Nynva Joyce Smith Wright was born in Dallas on August 26, 1939 and passed away November 23, 2025. She was born to Glenn and Geneva Smith and was the eldest of their 3 children. She attended South Oak Cliff High School graduating with honors in 1957. She attended North Texas State University receiving her Bachelor's Degree and later received a Masters Degree from East Texas State University. She went on to be a school teacher and taught first and second grades at Daniel Webster Elementary School in Dallas for over 30 years.
Nynva was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Cheryl Hilburn and husband W.T. Hilburn of Dallas and brother Danny Smith, also of Dallas, niece Lori McMinn of Natchitoches, Louisiana and nephew Steve Hilburn of Dallas. Her wish was to be cremated and no funeral held. She didn't leave any specific instructions on donations to be made in her honor but she did have a love of animals so an animal rescue organization or shelter would be suggested.
