Orvil Clinton Morris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Denison, Texas, on March 16, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 30, 1938, in Quanah, Texas, Orvil was the youngest of twelve children, a role that shaped his generous spirit and deep sense of family.
Orvil was preceded in death by his parents, William Claude and Florence Jane Morris, as well as his eleven siblings and his cherished daughter, Deborah Karen. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Shar'rie Morris, and their three daughters, Sandi Buhlman and her husband Mark, Kim Philpot and her husband Billie, and Rene Morris and her husband Craig Heffelfinger. He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Burnett, Mackenzie Berg and her husband Colby, Kennadie Philpot, and Breanna May, and a delighted great-grandfather to Maisyn and Gracyn Berg. He had too many nieces and nephews to count.
Known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor, Orvil had a remarkable ability to bring smiles to the faces of those around him. He was a man of great kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand and give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His life was marked by service, having been drafted into the Army where he proudly served for two years.
In the late 1960’s, Orvil moved to Dallas, where he met the love of his life, Shar'rie. Together, they built a beautiful family. Orvil's career in Dallas began as a city bus driver, but he soon managed a grocery store and later dedicated over 25 years to Southwest Distributing as a warehouse manager, all while running his own automotive parts business, Car-Go Distributing.
After retiring, Orvil discovered a new passion for creating YouTube videos, where he shared his love for music by featuring old songs from his favorite artists, including his brother Gene Morris and musician Slim Whitman. His channel flourished and has over 1.5 million views with 1000+ videos, showcasing his talent for connecting with others through the power of music.
Orvil's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering support for his family and friends. He was a pillar of strength and joy in the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt. He is remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the warmth and light he brought into the lives of everyone he met.
