“Big O” passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Son of Rudolph and Minnie Hillebrenner. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 13, 1930. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rudy. Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Menon; son, David Staffin and his wife Belinda and their children Colette Spirer, her husband Tal and Marissa Staffin; son, Jeff Staffin and his wife Dolores and their children Chloe and Sterling; son, Brent Hillebrenner; brother, Hans Hillebrenner and sister, Wilma Girardin; father-in-law, Harmon Schepps; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. After his devotion to his family, Oscar was most proud of his military service to his country. He served as a paratrooper in the US Army’s 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment, achieving the rank of Sergeant and seeing action in the Korean War. A devoted father, grandfather and patriot, Oscar is loved and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 22nd at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home at 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas 75225. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Shalom, 6930 Alpha Rd, Dallas, Tx 75240.
