In Loving Memory

Born Patricia Ann Lyle, March 31, 1933 to Eva Mae (Dupuis) and Eddie Lyle of Henderson, TX.

Mom grew up in East Texas, attending Carthage High School and proudly leading the Bulldog Band as Drum Majorette. She went on to graduate from North Texas State in Denton where she joined Kappa Delta Sorority and majored in Education. Her college years yielded lifelong relationships with 5 very special ladies - Dean, Dottie, Jack, LaJuan and Shirley. As a group they dined, laughed, celebrated and traveled into their 80's. The stories they told and memories they made for over 60 years are to be envied by all, as such relationships are truly precious.

After graduation in Dec. 1955, Pat married Bob (Robert H.) Goodwin and taught Senior English at Henderson HS while he completed his degree at Stephen F. Austin. They relocated to Beaumont, TX when dad took a job with Sun Oil Co. Mom taught several years in Beaumont until the family was transferred to Dallas in 1969. She continued her career with Richardson ISD instructing elementary and middle school students for many years - wedging in a master's degree and raising 3 kids along the way.

After retirement mom enjoyed her memberships in Northwood Women's Club, Prestonwood Estates Garden Club and the Richardson Retired Teachers Association. Always artistic, she was especially fond of monthly project meetings and lunches with her craft group "The Tenly". Mom embraced her move to Highland Springs Senior Living in 2017, where she met new and reconnected with old friends. She served with the Resident Advisory Council and Recycling / Environmental programs, while drawing and painting her way through many an art class. She even continued her "teaching" through an on-site tutoring program.

Mom died Oct 26 at the age of 92. She enjoyed a long life filled with love, laughter and lasting relationships - not the least of which were those with her caregivers who gave so much of themselves. Thank you Juliette, Teresa, Desiray, Marlene, Barbara, Ego, Thamara, Beatrice and VNA Hospice. You are angels here on earth.

Mothers are very special people and we will all miss her. Although no service is planned, she will be cremated per her request and her ashes spread along with dad's at a later date. As her children, we couldn't have asked for more loving parents. Through example they taught us to be strong, kind, thoughtful, independent, polite and fair - traits we are grateful for to this day. To that end, we send our love to all who knew her.

-The Kids - Kim (Dan) Rieder, Bubba Goodwin and Kay (Sam) Renshaw. Rest in Peace Meems.
