

She was born on July 28, 1939 in Dallas, TX to George and Helen Franklin. After graduating from high school in Oklahoma, she moved to Dallas where she met William Regan and they married in 1959. They traveled the world with the US Army and eventually settling down with their family in Georgia and Pennsylvania before moving back to Dallas in 1978.
While living in Atlanta she began painting and after moving to Philadelphia, studied with Carolyn Wyeth in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. A talented and award winning artist, her paintings have been displayed in galleries and art shows around the nation and in private corporate and personal collections. She had a passion for teaching and encouraging young artists and mentoring many in their creative journey.
As a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, she shared her passion as a member of the Goodrich Gallery Committee, serving as chairman for several terms and then honored as Chair Emeritus.
She had a deep and abiding love for the Lord and loved sharing her faith through witness, teaching Sunday School classes and creating and leading Bible Studies. One of her favorite lessons she created was a series of Sunday School lessons based on classical Old World paintings combining her love for the Lord with her life long study of art.
Patricia is preceded in death by her mother Helen Beckman Franklin and father George McCarty Franklin, and her brothers, Lawrence McCarty Franklin and Steven Montgomery Franklin.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Marion Regan; children, Greg and his wife Beverly, Ken and his wife Tiffany, and daughter Denise; her much beloved grandchildren, Rachael McLoughlin, Kaitlyn Domenico, Russell Regan and Jacob Regan; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Gayle Horn.
A service of remembrance to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held on March 1, 2025 at 11 a.m at First United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. A reception will follow the service in the church’s Atrium.
