Born in Darke Co., Ohio on Mar. 24, 1922 and died peacefully in his own home on his birthday, Mar. 24, 2012. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest delights were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Georgia, a son, David, daughter, Sylvia and great granddaughter, Erin, his parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Survived by his children, Sandy Long and husband Tony, Susie Preston and husband Jeff, Shirley Meyer and husband Bob, Paul H. Meyer Jr. and wife Edith, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, three sisters, many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will miss this dear man known as, “PawPaw.”
Paul Sr. was honored to serve in the Army Air Force during World War II and lived by the adage “Do the right thing, even when it’s not the easy thing to do.”
