Paula Jean Henderson Garfias

Paula Jean Garfias, age 55 of Dallas, passed away on September 23, 2015. She was born on May 7, 1960 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Elsie V. Henderson. On August 28, 1976 she married John Garfias, who survives.

Paula was a hairstylist for over 30 years and owned her own studio, Unique Image. It was here that Paula met and touched many lives and got to know all about the families she met. Paula had a heart of gold and positive spirit. She was always willing to help others and enjoyed volunteering at the animal shelter. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and dancing to Tejano music with her husband. Her greatest joy was the time she spent as “Nana” with her family and granddaughter. Paula will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Paula is survived by her husband, John Garfias; sons John Garfias, Jr. and wife Dominique and Sean Elliott Garfias; granddaughter Kennedy Marie Garfias; siblings Charlie Henderson and wife Pam, Doug Henderson, Louise Chavez and husband Angel, Robert Henderson and wife Anne, and Mary Garcia and husband Carlos. In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Hays and sister-in-law, Vickie Henderson.

Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2015 and funeral services at 2 PM on Monday, September 28, both at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
