Pauline “Polly” DeNur was born on Sept. 7, 1927, in Atlanta, Georgia. She passed away on August 30 in Dallas, Texas. Polly was a natural beauty, kind, and devoted to her family and friends. She was active on the Music Committee of Temple Emanu-El and was always ready to help others in need. For years she was an avid aerobic dancer with energy and stamina. Her late husband, Amnon DeNur, used to say, “Married 42 years and not one bad day.” She was a friend to all who knew her. She loved the arts, including Dallas theatres, the Dallas Symphony, the Nasher, the DMA, and the Wednesday Book Club. Polly enjoyed her bridge club for over 60 years. DeNur is survived by her children: Bobbi Feldman Kornblit, Rita King, DeDe (and Joe Bill) Watkins, Jack DeNur, and Robert H. Shelton (and Leah). Grandsons: Adam and Eli Shelton. Sisters: Peggy Slotin and Harriet Hess. She was predeceased by her parents: Freda and Dave Schaffer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jewish Family Services or Temple Emanu-El Music Committee.
A funeral service for Pauline will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Graveside service and reception will follow the service.
