

Peggy J (Sowards) Robinson of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2018, at the age of 86. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Robinson, of Austin; daughter and son-in-law Michael and Elizabeth (Beth) Poisson of Denver; her grandson, Jason Propp of Wellington, CO; one sister, Patricia Strawn and her uncle L.T. (Topper) Clark of Porterville, CA; scores of relatives, close acquaintances, trusted neighbors, and her two best friends, Brenda Passariello of Irving and Sam Cox of Bedford.
Born on a farm in Steedman, OK, on October 10, 1932, Peggy moved to California when she was seven. Her family lived in several cities in California before settling in the San Joaquin Valley, in Porterville, where she graduated from Porterville Union High School in 1950. Through her lifelong girlfriends, Ila Robinson Stoll and Nila Robinson Gibson, she met her future husband, their brother, Sam, and they married in January of 1951.
Peggy was a warm and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Known for her candidness and generosity, she was an accomplished homemaker, an excellent seamstress, an avid reader and loved to dance. Her greatest passion was gardening and her countless hours, hard labor and dedication were evident by her beautiful plants, flowers and landscaped yard. A dedicated volunteer at the information desk at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital for over 23 years, Peggy also served in several roles on the Auxiliary Board, including Membership Chair, Treasurer and Vice President of Community Relations.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam; her parents, Bill and Neoma Sowards; her brother, David Sowards and her nephew, Chuck Strawn.
Services will be held on Monday, November 26th, at 3 pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Hwy Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Texas 6100 Western Place #105, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
