Peter was born on May 28,1968 in Lexington, Kentucky, the third of six children to Dr. Richard and Judith Wood. He attended Christ the King Catholic School where he received the Todd Tenholder Award given to the graduating student best exemplifying the school’s values of faith, hard work, leadership, and kindness. These traits he carried with him throughout his life.
He attended Bishop Lynch High School where he was captain of the football and wrestling teams and in the 10th grade met the love of his life, Kristen Bidopia. From Bishop Lynch, they both went to the University of North Texas where Peter completed his pre-medical degree in 1991.
Peter and Kristen were married in Oxford, England in 1992. They moved to Miami, Florida where he attended medical school at Barry University. Following his graduation, he was an intern and surgical resident in podiatric medicine at Cedar Sinai/University of Miami Hospital. In 2002, he entered private practice at Baylor University Medical Center, becoming chief of podiatry. He greatly treasured his friendships with his colleagues, administration, personnel, and people from every area of the hospital, and he dearly loved his patients. Peter’s greatest joy was his family. With his wife, Kristen, and his daughters, Christina and Angela, many family traditions were born.
Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna and Robert Gray and Evelyn and William Wood.
